Originally from Saskatchewan, Shauna came to Toronto to attend Randolph Academy for Performing Arts. Since graduating, she has taught throughout the GTA producing award-winning choreography both in Canada and the United States. She has been an adjudicator at competitions across Canada and has also directed a film for Bravo! She has over 20 years of experience providing quality trainingwhile nurturing a passion for dance in students. Shauna is very grateful to have such a wonderful team to work alongside and is thrilled at how our community has come together during these tough times.
Stephanie has had an affinity for dance from a young age. She moved to Toronto in 2004 to assist with the operation of IR Dance. She is Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) certified, and an award-winning choreographer. She also designs and builds the sets and backdrops for every IR Dance recital. Stephanie loves to help her students build confidence. “Team work makes the dream work”
Gabby's love of dance started at age 3. Having trained in ballet, jazz, tap and musical theatre she discovered her true love in acrobatics and contortion. Performing professionally for over 10 years, Gabby has wowed audiences across the province. Gabby is a certified member of Acrobatic Arts and can't wait to go into her 13th season at I.R.Dance!
Jeanette graduated from the university of Toronto as aDrama Specialist, and from Sheridan College with aDiploma in Acting. She is an Associate Member of The Canadian Dance Teacher's Association. She's worked with young people all over the globe - North America,Europe, Africa, and onboard cruise ships - but she is happy to have made at home at IR Dance for the last decade. Jeanette is currently completing a certificate in Leadership and Diversity through Centennial College
Spenser has been dancing for over 25 years. She earned a BA Degree in Dance from the University ofCalgary, a Post Graduate Certificate in ArtsManagement from Humber College, and completed an internship as a dancer with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks Calgary. Her passion for dance has led her to teach, choreograph, and perform acrossCanada, and internationally throughout Scotland and Namibia.
Toni has been a member of the Innovative Rhythm dance family since she was 8 years old. She graduated from the studio in 2019 and is currently working towards completing her BA and BEd degrees at York University.She hopes to one day become a K-6 teacher and inspire her students in the same way the staff at IR Dance did for her so many years ago. Toni is honoured to work alongside the teachers that ignited her love for dance.She can't wait to see what this year has in store for the students of IRDS!
Annie graduated from the Etobicoke School of the Arts Musical Theatre program and Innovative Rhythm in 2021. She is currently pursuing her BFA at York University, majoring in Dance. Annie has always had a passion for movement and storytelling and hopes to continue the Innovative Rhythm legacy of hard work and inspiration through her teaching!
Raine has a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Calgary (2014) and a Masters of Fine Art in Dance from York University (2020). Raine began her dance career at Dance Images and was awarded the Investors group scholarship from Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Recently Raine has found herself performing in productions that involve theatre, dance and has appeared in numerous commercial ads, Raine has taught many dance classes and workshops across Canada. She works closely advising and choreographing with the team at Dance Images. Recently Raine has begun adjudicating for competitions across Canada.
Jennifer is an aerial artist originally from Winnipeg. She has an extensive background in artistic gymnastics and frequently performs aerial silks across the GTA. She was amember of Momentum Aerial and Acrobatic troupe, and has performed throughout Europe and North America. Whether on the ground or in the air, she loves seeing herstudents learn and grow!
Miss Valentina is going into her seventh season at Innovative Rhythm. In addition to teaching at the studio she choreographs and performs across the GTA, and works in event management for TDC Entertainment. Valentina coordinates performances for corporate events and weddings, assists with administration and does prop and costume design. Valentina is passionate about the arts, and is excited for the dance season ahead!
A recent graduate of the 2022-2023 IR season, Ella is excited to spend another year around the studio as an administrative assistant. She will be at one of the desks most of the time and cannot wait to see and meet everyone, so please feel free to come say “hello”! Ella is working towards her undergraduate degree in Bioethics at the University of Toronto, where she hopes to take what she’s learned at Innovative Rhythm and continue dancing in her spare time at Victoria College. She is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such inspirational people, and to contribute in a small way to a beautiful dance community.
