Tickets on Sale April 26 

Tickets for "Two Worlds" our annual dance recital will be going on Sale on April 26 at 1pm. There will be a Buy tickets button on our website that will be active starting at 1pm on the 26th.

Registration for Next Season

Level Recommendations will be going home next week. Registration opens April 30 at 1pm. Current students have until June 4 to have priority registration. Registration opens to the public on June 5th.

Yorktown Shelter Donation

Thank you to all who participated in our Charity events throughout January and February. Due to your generous donations we were able to raise $1700 for Yorktown Family Services!

Preschool Programs

Kinderdance and Primary Classes
For Children ages 2-4
Kinderdance is a general introduction to dance that includes ballet, jazz and creative movement. The children are introduced to dance steps through creative play. While learning basic dance steps they also learn how the structure of a class works - following a leader, listening to the teacher, lining up, basic social skills etc.

Class are 30 minutes in length and take place through the full season September - May. Kinderdancers (age 2) have an in-studio presentation at the end of the season. Primary 1 (age 3) and Primary 2 (age 4) dancers participate in the annual year-end production.

We understand the importance of individual attention so we cap our Kinder and Primary class sizes at 12 participants/class. Each class has 1 teacher and 1 or 2 senior student assistants. Since one of our goals is to teach children of this age how to participate in a studio and social setting, this class is for students only - the parents stay in the lobby and are welcome to watch the closed circuit television.

Junior 1 Classes
For children ages 5 and 6, we have Junior 1 Combo classes which are 45 minutes in length. We want to take the opportunity while they are this age to expose them to as many different disciplines as possible so combo classes are a great way to introduce different disciplines to the dancer. Half of the class is spent doing ballet and the other half of the class is spent doing another discipline (depending on the specific class): either tap, jazz, hip-hop or acro. Because ballet is the foundation of dance, we want all of these dancers to be introduced to it.

At the end of of the season, Junior 1 classes do an in-studio ballet presentation for their families. They then perform their second discipline in the annual year-end production.

We cap our Junior 1 classes at 12 for Acro/Ballet and at 14 for other disciplines. Each class has 1 teacher and 1 or 2 senior student assistants. While classes take place, only dancers and teachers are in the studios, but parents can see what is happening during class from the lobby with our closed-circuit TV system.
